Benny's has very good food and the portions are good. In the past I have had many Of the breakfast dishes and they do a good with those. Today I had the Black and Blue Burger. It was cooked to a perfect medium and the beef patty was tasty and substantial ( larger than I like ) . The blue cheese although an adequate amount it didn't have much punch . The on line menu says frizzled Onions . The in store menu says onion. Rings and that is what you get , two fried onion rings. They were ok but frizzled onions would be better. The fries were great and I appreciate what some would call a skimpy severing. I don't need a mountain of fries and these were just the right amount and they crisp and hot. Just about perfect The problem with Benny's is the kitchen can be dreadfully slow . If are in a hurry stick with a simple egg, meat and toast breakfast . If not patience is a virtue and you will be rewarded with some pretty tasty food. Coffee is decent as well. Not good coffee shop quality but light years ahead of your basic diner coffee. The restaurant is clean an inviting. Tables near the entry door can be a little chilly in the winter.

I've been here a few times and the breakfast is good as is the service. I was inspired to write a review from their Gyro though. I ordered the lamb beef gyro and it was legit, best one I've had between Boston and NYC for sure and better than most in Boston. They make the meat traditionally in-house on a proper spit (according to the owner who popped out to say hi) - it was wonderful and came out with above average super crispy fries. - this place seems to be severely underrated for their lunch options. Check it out.

Nothing about this place suggests that it aspires to be more than a small town diner. The quality of the food, however, blew my wife and me away. It does not have a diner vibe at all. If anything, it seems amateurish in its menu, interior, and ambience. The food, however, was delicious and the service was excellent. I look forward to visiting again.

Our usual gang of 5 stopped here for our monthly breakfast after attending a morning Carholic Mass. We alternate among 20 or so towns in northern CT, western MA. Benny's came highly recommended and lived up to its plaudits. My four friends all had the hungry man special....two eggs, a choice of meat, and either two pancakes, two French toast, or a waffle. I don't follow the crowd, and opted for a CYO (create your own) 3 egg omelet (with a choice of 3 fillings...I chose sausage, spinach, and feta). My omelet also came w toast (rye for me) and either home fries or shredded potatoes. Our server, Victoria, was great. Attentive, capable, affable. She kept us caffeinated and seemed to have roller skates on and octopus arms (that's a good thing). Everyone's food looked great, but I really need to describe mine. The omelet was light and fluffy, and soooo delicious. The right amount of ingredients. The potatoes were actually like a potato pancake - crunchy on the outside, light inside. It rivaled those made in a place like Rein's in Vernon. Even the rye toast was perfect. A substantial crust and that subtle caraway taste. You know when you have a bunch of really good food on your plate and you can't decide what to end on. That's how it was for me.. tough choice between the omelet and potato pancake. One quibble - coffee a bit pricey at $3.35 a cup. But unlimited refills. I polled the other 4. Three said 5 stars (even Demanding Dan). Regardless of what they say, for me it was 5 stars!

Good food and quick service. This menu has a lot of options and nice/cute atmosphere. Nice local dinner vibes with outdoor seating. Recommend it in the area as a good food or breakfast place. Really like the egg and cheese with a nice sauce
